Hey y'all let's see what's up today! This month was honestly not as crazy as the past few have been, however I didn't really expect to get a mental drain the way that I did this month. Though I try to prioritize my mental health over quite literally anything else, sometimes we just can't pinpoint when our brains are going to decide that even basic functions are too much. That being said, I still got quite a bit done this month. I wrote my first short story, I finished my diorama just in time for it to be submitted for an emagazine, and I have started on some other creative projects so I feel like this little rough patch is exactly what I needed to get the creative ball rolling! We have a lot to cover this month, so I'm going to stop stalling and dive on into it. Hey y'all let's see what's up today! This book came highly recommended to me because I live in Appalachia, where this story is set. I don't, however, live in the West Virginia area so I was even more excited to read this in hopes of learning something new. I will say, I devoured about half of this book in one day, and had to really pace myself for the rest of it so that I didn't finish it too quickly because once I got into it I really got into it. As always, this may not work for everyone but these are just some tips that I use and I hope that somehow or another I can help someone else out there achieve their goals! These biscuits are a simple and cost efficient recipe that you can make for breakfast in the morning, or to have as a side with your dinner. This recipe is not exact so I've measured to the best of my ability, if you have ever met a southern woman you know they measure everything with thoughts and prayers so getting this recipe exactly right felt like an act of Congress. Ingredients  🌈Self Rising Flour 🌈  Shortening, Butter, or Olive Oil 🌈  Buttermilk You will also need a large mixing bowl and a baking sheet as well as a fork or whisk. This is something that I have the most fun with because it's usually a really educational process that also allows you to be creative and also explore this world that you're creating for your story. Why Focus on World Building? We've all read stories where the world the characters live in just seem really flat and two dimensional, or even downright offensive to other cultures and minorities.   Hey y'all let's see what's up today! This weekend I had the pleasure of attending Saucers Over Appalachia, which is an alien festival hosted in Bristol on the Tennessee, Virginia state line. This festival is free to attend, and it's an absolutely amazing experience for paranormal lovers so I thought that should be the focus of today's post considering I haven't done a Horror Hub in almost a month.  The History Appalachia has a very rich paranormal and folklore centered history, however, Saucers Over Appalachia highlights the UFO craze that took America by storm in the 1970s. The reports detailed strange floating lights in the sky, unidentified flying objects (or UFOs), and even attempted kidnappings! Such reports and stories have continued to amaze, interest, and even draw enthusiasts from across the nation. Hey y'all let's see what's up today! This weekend I had the pleasure of going to see The Backrooms and dare I say it was absolutely PACKED in my little small town theatre between The Backrooms, Scary Movie 6 (which I'll be seeing next weekend), and The Amazing Digital Circus movie. I haven't been to the theatre in my home town since I saw Iron Lung,  so when I got there I was surprised to see they had put these little claw machine things in the lobby? I hope they keep them but I do wish they lowered the price of tokens and the amount of tokens per play because the prizes were not very good quality and the mechanisms on the machines were too weak to actually try to pick something up. Theatre updates aside, I have quite literally never seen a theatre this packed in my entire life. Even Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which I thought would have sold out completely, was only about 1/3 of the way full and Iron Lung was about halfway full, whereas the Backrooms...
