Rewind: July 2026

Image
Hey y'all let's see what's up today! July was a really fun month for me, I got a lot of stuff done, I started some new things that I'm going to be sharing with you guys here shortly! July was really stormy for some reason, but I didn't let that stop me from getting some things done because I had a lot that I wanted to accomplish in a very short time period. Unfortunately, not everything that I had hoped to do came to pass because my mental health was a little crazy this month but that's okay because we still accomplished some things. With that being said, this introduction isn't going to be terribly long so let's get into it! Favorites Favorites this month are going to be a little scarce I got a lot of stuff done but not as much as I would have liked and that primarily just boiled down to energy. Movies I didn't watch a ton of movies this month because I was on a little bit of a YouTube Hell House LLC (2015) ★★★★★ Hell H...

Bookmarked: Molka by Monika Kim

Hey y'all let's see what's up today! So this book was actually in my list of new releases a couple months back, and I was super excited to start reading it because its a Korean horror. I've been a fan of Korean based horror for almost a decade with titles like Killing Stalking and Moebious being in my rotation pretty consistently despite my preference for 1970s-1980s style horror. PLEASE check the content warnings before you read this yourself, this novel is very raw it is pretty explicit, and though I dont have a problem with that personally I encourage you to make sure that its something you're able to handle. I am genuinely so excited to talk about this book, so without further adue let's just get on into it. 📷 📹 🖥 Molka🖥📹📷 Content Warnings: Voyeurism, Genetalia, Masturbation, Strong Language, Grief, Sex, Misogyny, Death, Unplanned Pregnancy, Teen Pregnancy, Suicide, Drowning, Sibling Rivalry, Graphic Descriptions of A Corpse, De...

Hey Girl Listen: Summer Activities With Chronic Illness

Image
Hey y'all let's see what's up today! Since it is officially summer, I wanted to kind of talk about doing outdoor activities and attending festivals with a chronic illness. I know this may not be advice that applies to everyone, but as someone who suffers with POTS, summer activities can really leave me with a little bit of FOMO, as I know it does a lot of other people that have it as well. This year I've been determined to attend some local activities and festivals even amidst this summer heat, so I wanted to share with you all how I've been preparing for that. As always, this is just what works for me, you should always focus on what you know works best for your situation and your body. Tip 1: Prepare A Bag     Preparing a bag beforehand is something I've been trying to do more often. I pack supplies that I use to treat my more common POTS symptoms like heat sensitivity and dehydration. Preparing your essentials before the event will u...

Hey Girl, Listen: Financial Literacy Tips

Image
Hey y'all, let's see what's up today! As the blog title suggests in this post we're going be talking about financial literacy and how to stop being broke because let's face it having no savings and living paycheck to paycheck at our age isn't cute. Now, I am in no way shape or form a financial advisor but I have worked in accounting since I was 22, it's what I do currently for work, and I have a lot of experience on balancing even the tightest of budgets, which I think might come in handy given the rising cost of... well everything right now. In this post I’m going to break down the financial lingo, share some useful tips that I personally follow, and then direct you to some creators who post purely finance based content if you would like to learn more about other tricks. Please keep in mind this is only in regards to personal finances, however I also own my own business and can assist with sharing those tips as well if anyone would like them. Bu...

Notes From the Author: Writing Obstacles I Face (and How I Overcome Them)

Image
Hey y'all let's see what's up today! Today I wanted to share some of the struggles that I've faced as a writer and how I personally overcome them. There might be a few things in this list that don't work for everyone, but hopefully something will stand out and help you make some progress. As always it never hurts to experiment and find what works for you, and if you have any tips you'd like to share feel free to drop them in the comments! What I've Had the Hardest Time With:     There are actually a lot of things that I struggle with as an author, and I think it's going to be easier if I just break them down so that we can keep track of things: 📕 1 Big Ideas: This has by far been the biggest thing that I've struggled with. I kind of describe my work as an overfilled cake pan. If you've ever filled a cake pan you know that as you bake the cake just keeps getting bigger and bigger and it'll eventually overflow in the ...

Pretty Sketchy: Tips For Beginners

Hey y'all let's see what's up today! I am a traditionally taught artist, meaning that I primarily had a mentor while I was learning and figuring out what I wanted to do and they taught me most of the skills that I needed to move on up the ladder, though I chose not to finish art school. Unfortunately, I'm not the type of person that is content with doing just one type of artwork, I want to do a little of everything and I do! I make jewelry, draw both digitally and traditionally, crochet, sew, embroider, and a whole bunch of other things! It's safe to say, I have some experience. I don't want this post to be like super focused on one medium, because there are a lot of different mediums to try. However, there are also a lot of people out there that want to take your money as well and therefore they will try to sell lessons and expensive supplies and that's just not necessary, so I am hoping to be a little guide for you guys with this section. That being said...

Reel Reviews: The Backrooms- Everything Must Go (2026)

Image
Hey y'all let's see what's up today! Last month I went to see The   Backrooms and I had a great time with it. I was excited to see that they were putting an extended release with 15 minutes of bonus footage in theaters tonight before the film is released on DVD and streaming services this Tuesday. As soon as I heard the announcement, I knew I had to grab a ticket because I enjoyed it so much the first time around. This time, however, I'm not flying solo to my film, I was able to convince my coworker to join me!  The Summary The Backrooms follows Clark, a furniture store owner with a failing marriage and a drinking problem and his therapist Mary as they try to work through ghosts of their past and the monsters of their present. Clark finds a portal in the wall of his furniture store that leads him to an infinite maze of rooms, rooms that he has tried to map but can't seem to be able to find the end of.  Upon receiving a disturbing call from Clar...
