Rewind: August 2026

Image
Hey y'all let's see what's up today! August is officially over, unfortunately I wasn't able to get this posted because my internet was out yesterday, so we are just going to post all of our end of month things today as well as the Monthly Issue for September today. I have removed the Favorites section from the Rewind so that will now be in The Monthly Mix tab if you want to check out what I've really liked this month to try it for yourself! With that being said, let's get into it! Goals All of my goals for August were ones that I could  💲 Finish Saving for Smoky Mountain Terror: I was able to complete this goal this month, and I was so happy. I didn't bring a lot of money with me because I didn't want to bring that much cash but I got smart and booked the tickets for things that I wanted to do in advance which was helpful. 💲 Save and Book Universal Studios Trip: This goal, unfortunately, I did not complete because I'm not able t...

The Monthly Mix: August 2026

Hey y'all let's see what's up today! This is a bit of a new post that we're going to be rolling out and this is going to replace rhe "Favorites" section of Rewind. The Monthly Mix is going to be a specially curated list of things that I really enjoyed this month that I want to share with you guys. I'll be linking as much as I can, but I do want to share the expectation that not everything will have a link as I do a lot of second hand shopping. Products I'm going to go ahead and get my product section out of the way so this post doesn't feel like a giant advertisement, but rest assured that I haven't been paid for anything that I'm promoting, these are all products that I purchased with my own money that I just really really like. With that being said let's get into it! Le Monde Gourmand Pistachio Bruleé: I absolutely ADORE this perfume, I wear it almost every single day. It's very light and clean smelling, it's ...

Horror Hub: Smoky Mountain Terror 2026

Image
Hey y'all let's see what's up today! This weekend I had the pleasure of attending Smoky Mountain Terror. This is my first big horror convention and it was honestly SUCH a blast!!!! I want to go to more of these for sure, but if I'm not able to I'd really like to go to Smoky Mountain Terror again (I'm hoping they have Brad Dourif come one year like legitimately). That being said, let's hop on into it because this event was three days long and I did quite a bit! Day One Friday was the first day of the event, and before we arrived to the convention I treated my mom to lunch at Aubrey's. Once we were fed, it was off to the con! Right away we ran into the amazing Madam Leota, she gave us a fortune and we later found her booth where she had some amazing handmade props! @catiecutiecosplay as Madam Leota  I ran into a good friend of mine that has a booth at our local flea market that sells signed mercha...

Horror Hub: Are We Experiencing A Horror Renaissance?

Image
Hey y'all let's see what's up today! It has been awhile since we've had a proper Horror Hub post and I won't lie I have absolutely been itching to get back to posting these on the regular! However, I have been dealing with a really bad sinus infection for the past couple of days so I did fall asleep before I was able to upload anything last night (so sorry). I also want to, before I continue with this, apologize for any mistakes that I may have made while formatting and editing this post, I did my best but I may have missed some things. While I was away, I got to thinking about the horror genre and how this year seems like one of the best for book releases, mini series, and films. 2025 was great as well, especially with horror or horror adjacent shows like Haunted Hotel coming to streaming services. I feel like this really begs the question, are we seeing a horror renaissance? Depending on who you ask, horror kind of lost its charm after the early 2000s...

Bookmarked: The Director's Cut: A Final Girl's Guide to Killing the Script and Reclaiming the Lead by Finn O'Gorman

Hey y’all lets see what’s up today! Back in May I, along with other members of my horror club, were invited to read an Advance Reader Copy or ARC of our fellow club member Finn’s new self help novel. If you’ve been following my content for awhile, you probably noticed that self help content is not necessarily my niche. However, considering that this was horror themed and I really wanted to support my friend here I was excited to check it out! Believe it or not, I do have a playlist for this. It’s the playlist I use when I go to the gym, but I feel like it’s very fitting for this type of book, as we’re turning ourselves into final girls in our own horror movie (theoretically that is!) 🔪🪓🔦Final Girl Energy🔦🪓🔪 Content Warnings: Horror Movie References, Mental Health Advice, Mental Health Discussion The Summary Are you tired of feeling like an extra in your own movie? Do you feel like a scary masked killer is lurking just over your shoulder, in a darkened corner, or right outside? Th...
